The most commonly asked question we get is: How much is a Ragdoll Cat or Kitten?
The answer can vary depending on where you live and whether there are any reputable breeders in your area. Generally, prices in California range from $2,000 to $4,500. Why is there so much variability in pricing?
1. Supply and demand: Ragdolls are always in high demand, with many people searching for them throughout the year. There also might be a higher demand in certain areas than others.
2. Breeder Reputation and Ethics: Breeders who care about their cats consider the cats' overall health, diet, socialization, and enrichment as key factors in raising their kittens. They spend more money to ensure the kittens receive proper veterinary care, vaccinations, a good diet, and plenty of snuggles and playtime.
3. Health Guarantees: Reputable breeders offer health guarantees against genetic conditions, which contributes to the price. It takes time and knowledge to research healthy cats with good genetic material and pedigrees effectively.
You can also find altered (spayed or neutered) cats over a year of age who are often less pricey than kittens. Ask your local breeder if they have any retired adults or alters available.

Breeder Reputation: Be Careful Not All Cat Titles Are Equal
Many breeders will claim to have "Champion Cats," counting on the fact that you don't know what a "Champion" actually is. If the cat is shown in TICA - The International Cat Association, the highest title a cat can earn is SGC - Supreme Grand Champion. The second highest title is QGC - Quadruple Grand Champion. Look for cats with the highest quality champions on their titles. International (IW) and Regional (RW) Winner Titles are also worth a lot of merit. Other incredibly difficult-to-obtain titles are BW - Breed Winner and LA - Lifetime Achievement Winner.
